About

Hunting preserves and game bird producers have always been faced with countless challenges. With attacks from anti-hunting groups, little to no support from government organizations, constantly rising feed costs, and the impending threat of avian influenza, the battle is far from over. The Wisconsin Game Preserve Association (WGPA) is committed to protecting the rights of hunting preserves along with the producers who supply them. Our members are game bird producers, hunting preserves, and other support industries that are all united under a common goal: the preservation of our hunting heritage.

The game bird industry is unique in that a threat to one member is a threat to all members. Since 1964, the WGPA has worked closely with legislators to protect the game bird industry and fight these threats. In the past, the WGPA has:
- Eliminated double taxation on game birds and clay targets in the last two government budgets
- Worked with the WI Department of Agriculture and the State Vet to form protocols in the instance of avian influenza
- Supported legislation that increases hunting opportunities in Wisconsin
